The main method of pruning is strength contraction. According to the flowering habit of Lagerstroemia indica, its inflorescence is concentrated at the top of the budding branch of that year, and it is usually not pregnant on the old branch. Corresponding pruning measures should be taken according to different tree shapes. For big trees with obvious trunk, the sprouting branches on the trunk should be deleted first, so that the trunk can always be straight and smooth, and the bark is bright and lovely. For the big branches located in the middle and upper part of Gao Qian that affect the tree shape, all the branches should be sawed off from the base, so that the remaining big branches will open naturally, and each big branch will occupy about 70% to 100% of the space, forming a more beautiful umbrella rib; All the middle branchlets that sprouted in that year were cut off from the base, so that more thick branches could grow in the next year, and bright and huge inflorescences could cover the periphery of the canopy. For clustered Lagerstroemia indica, except for selecting thick stems to keep the stems, all other sprouting strips are cut off from the base, and it is generally appropriate to keep 3 or 5 odd thick stems; Then, cut off every thick trunk at an appropriate height. The trunk height of large green space should be 2.5 to 3 meters, and the trunk height of general courtyard green space should be 1.5 to 2 meters. Pruned branches should be burned centrally. After pruning Lagerstroemia indica, clean the cut branches and leaves scattered on the ground, burn them together, and paint the parts below 1.5 meters white, which can reduce the occurrence of diseases in the coming year.
