Lagerstroemia speciosa is asexual propagation, also called cutting propagation, which is suitable for spring or late summer and early autumn. If it is spring cutting, it is necessary to cut the branches of the mother plant 1 year, and the length should be controlled at about 15 cm. Prune branches properly, remove excess leaves, and then soak them in rooting water.

Soak the branches for about 15 ~ 25 minutes, then take them out and put them in a cool and ventilated place to dry. Prepare loose, fertile, breathable and drained nutrient soil, which needs to be disinfected in advance. After disinfection, dry branches can be cut into soft soil, properly watered and placed in a cool and ventilated place.

If cutting is carried out in late summer and early autumn, it can be carried out around July. Cut off the semi-lignified branches of the mother plant, and control the length within 8 ~ 10. Trim the base of the branch properly, remove the redundant leaves, and leave 2 ~ 2 leaves at the top. After pruning, the branches can be soaked with disinfectant.

After the branches are soaked, they can be put in a cool and ventilated place to dry in the shade. Choose loose and fertile nutrient soil, pour in proper amount of rooting powder after disinfection, and stir evenly. Cut dry branches into nutrient soil, water them properly and maintain them in a ventilated place indoors. Keep the soil moist during maintenance and take root in about 20 days.
