Hengshui lake ancient site

1, Jizhou ancient city site

Located in the north of the old city, it extends more than 2000 meters from the northwest of Beiguan Village to the southwest. According to research, the ancient city was built during the reign of Emperor Gao of the Western Han Dynasty (about 20 BC1-BC 180), with a history of more than 2,000 years. During the Han Dynasty, Fiona Fang was twelve miles away. In the northern song dynasty, the city week expanded to twenty-five miles. The Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties were also revised.

For thousands of years, due to weathering and floods, the ancient city wall has been incomplete, ups and downs, intermittent, giving people a sense of desolation of historical changes. The ancient city wall is three to five meters high, 30 meters wide at the base and four meters wide at the top. Now it is a provincial key cultural relics protection unit.

2.Chikurinji site

Located 300 meters northeast of Beiguan Village. According to legend, in ancient times, there was a mountain in the north of Jizhou, which often appeared as a mirage, and you could vaguely see a pavilion hanging in the air. "The morning glow sets off" is like a fairyland, known as Wei Zi, one of the "Three Fairy Mountains".

In the Ming Dynasty, Jizhou Prefecture ordered people to draw this strange scene to spread it. During the Jiajing period, an official from Jizhou summoned skilled craftsmen to build a Chikulin Temple in a mirage in the northeast of Jizhou, which was full of incense, but it was destroyed by floods and other reasons. At the end of the Qing Dynasty, Chikurinji was rebuilt on the original site at the local people's own expense, but it was already destroyed.

The site was originally surrounded by water on three sides, and there was a long and narrow passage connected with the shore in the south. After Hengshui Lake was impounded, the passage was flooded and the site became an island in the lake. 1993, Beiguan Village built a temple on the ancient site. The bronze Buddha statue in the ancient temple was originally preserved in Jixian Cultural Center, but it was destroyed in the ten-year turmoil. At present, only the Monument of Chikulin Ji is kept, which is collected by the cultural relics in Jizhou District, Hengshui City.
