Why are there so many crows in the Forbidden City?

The reason why there are many crows in the Forbidden City is related to the last feudal dynasty, the Qing Dynasty. Why do you say that?

Qing Dynasty was a dynasty established by Manchu minority. Manchu people believe in shamanism. In the Oracle of Shamanism, crow is a black warning bird. It is said that with it, you can keep peace day and night. In addition to their beliefs, Manchu people have found through long-term observation that they can often find food where crows gather, which is one of the reasons why they are full of feelings for crows. Since you are a god bird and an object of worship, there will of course be many legends.

The most famous story is The Savior of the Crow. It is said that the young Nurhachi worked in the palace of the Ming Dynasty general Li. Li was kind to him, too, but one day Li received a "tip-off" from the emperor, saying that a purple star had fallen on earth at night, and there was a statue of the son of heaven in the northeast, and ordered him to destroy this man quickly. Li looks for "Purple Star" everywhere every day, but there is a sea of people there. It seems that no one has the image of the son of heaven. Just when he was sad, he suddenly found that Nurhachi had seven red boils on his feet, so he quietly decided to detain Nurhachi in Beijing the next day.

That night, Li was very proud. He finally found the "statue of the son of heaven". He told my concubine and told her to detain Nurhachi, and he would send him to Beijing early tomorrow morning. My concubine has always liked Nurhachi. After Li fell asleep, she quickly let Nurhachi escape. Nurhachi knew that the matter was critical, so he quickly got out of the dog hole in the city wall and ran away. Soon, I found that Li had escaped, so I sent someone to chase him.

Of course, a horse with two legs can't outrun a horse with four legs, and it is about to be overtaken. Nurhachi had to hide in a ruined temple on the roadside. When the Ming army rode past the ruined temple, it was full of crows. They thought that Nurhachi hiding here would definitely scare the crows away. Now the crows don't seem to be afraid at all, which only shows that Nurhachi didn't enter the temple, so he raised his whip and chased him. In this way, Nurhachi dodged a bullet, set out with his father's 13 armor, and finally established the late Jin Dynasty, which was the predecessor of the Qing Dynasty.

Of course, there are many legends about crows and ancestors. For example, crows also saved Huang taiji. It is precisely because our ancestors were saved by crows that they set up Soren poles to raise crows, and their ancestors were grateful to them. Later generations were grateful to them, because crows saved our ancestors, and because crows, as divine birds, could keep safe, the royal family once sent someone to buy food on Soren poles and feed crows, which is why many crows appeared in the former Shenyang Forbidden City or the later Beijing Forbidden City. Because the royal family in Qing Dynasty was always full of gratitude and admiration for crows, they put a lot of food on the poles of Sauron from time to time every year, and regarded crows as divine birds, never hurting them, which naturally attracted more and more crows.

The Qing Dynasty has a history of more than 200 years. Think about it. Because there is food and drink, and there is no harm, where can crows find such a suitable living environment? Later, the dynasties changed and the times changed with each passing day. Although no one feeds crows, the Forbidden City is a key cultural relic, and there are not many people living in it. Crows like quiet, so they continue to live in the Forbidden City. After all, they have gone through many vicissitudes, but in their hearts, they always consider themselves the aborigines of the Forbidden City.
