Which flowers and trees are suitable for planting in Jining, Shandong Province?

Landscape is a big market. Which seedlings sell best in the new year? What kind of flowers and trees have a future? This is the most concerned issue for the majority of Miao farmers. In this issue, we asked Chen Jingdong, deputy director of Jining City Garden Bureau, to talk about the market demand of seedlings and the future seedling direction of seedling farmers in combination with the current situation of Jining seedling market.

In recent years, Jining City has increased its investment in landscaping, and built Xianying Green Space, Guanghe Park, New Century Square, Cultural Park, Putin North Street, Railway Station Square and Fu Tao Riverside Park. By 2005, the green coverage rate of Jining's built-up area reached 39%, the green space rate reached 35%, and the per capita public green space reached 9.66 square meters. From June 5 to February 2005, Jining was approved by the provincial government as a provincial garden city. According to the preliminary investigation, there are 278 species of garden plants (including trees, shrubs, lawns and aquatic plants) in Jining. Miao wood industry has great development potential.

Through years of work practice, I realize that landscaping should focus on native tree species and introduce suitable tree species for local growth. There are several principles in the selection of garden tree species: first, the ornamental value is high, the trunk is tall and straight, the bark is smooth, there are few pests and diseases, and the leaves are beautiful. Second, the shading effect is good, the crown is large, the branches are dense, and the crown is round or oval. Third, the growth rate is moderate and it is resistant to pruning.

Which flowers and trees are most commonly used?

Evergreen garden plants widely used in landscaping mainly include Ligustrum lucidum, Cedar, Cypress, Magnolia grandiflora, Heather, Spruce and so on. Among them, Ligustrum lucidum leaves are frozen in extremely cold years, Magnolia grandiflora grows better in the courtyard with sunny lee, Pinus bungeana has high economic value and a large amount of cedar.

Deciduous trees mainly include Ginkgo biloba, Fagopyrum Fagopyrum, Albizia Albizia, Populus tomentosa, Populus simonii, Liriodendron chinense, Luanshu, Melia azedarach, Toona sinensis, Pterocarya stenoptera, Pterocarya formosana, Coral tree, weeping willow, Gleditsia sinensis, Sophora japonica, Tung oil tree, tassel, persimmon tree, Fraxinus mandshurica, Pterocarya stenoptera, Sapium sebiferum and Berberis chinensis.

At present, the slow growth rate and high economic value are: Cortex Fraxini, Populus simonii, Liriodendron chinense, Acer mono, weeping willows, Gleditsia sinensis, coral trees, Pterocarya stenoptera and Sophora japonica.

Ginkgo biloba and tassel have high economic value and slow growth. Albizia julibrissin did not grow well in Jining and was invaded by germs, resulting in death. Not suitable for development.

The flowers and shrubs commonly used in landscaping mainly include Chinese rose, Spiraea, Pearl Plum, Chinese rose, Rosa roxburghii, Begonia, Cherry Blossom, Plum Blossom, Purple Plum, Bauhinia, Lagerstroemia indica, Pomegranate, Forsythia suspensa, Yingchun, Peach Blossom, Hibiscus, Lilac and so on.

The varieties suitable for pattern design mainly include Ligustrum lucidum, Berberis amurensis, Sabina vulgaris, Euonymus persicum and so on. But these varieties are not suitable for large-scale cultivation in Jining. In southern Jiangsu, these varieties grow rapidly.

Commonly used herbaceous plant varieties mainly include bunch of red flowers, cockscomb flowers, marigold, canna, iris, Petunia and so on. And some species of ground cover plants.

Commonly used aquatic plants mainly include lotus, water lily, Euryale ferox, cattail, Euonymus japonicus, scallion, Sagittarius, reed, Swertia japonica and Swertia japonica.
