Born in 1788, the word Mu,No. Bamboo tree, was an oceanic native of Guilin Village, Gaiyang Town, Mingxi County, Fujian Province in the Qing Dynasty. In the eighth year of Daoguang (1828), he participated in the reconstruction of Tongzhi in Fujian and the compilation of local chronicles.
