Do you worship celestial officials on the Lantern Festival? The process of worshipping Emperor Wei Zi

On the fifteenth day of the first month, Lantern Festival is a day when God bless people. The folk believe that the three officials and three emperors are Yao, Shun and Yu, and discuss this view with the concept of Buddha spitting three sons in the early Yuan Dynasty. Because one day, the Buddha flew to the extreme of emptiness, and he took Qing Xu's Seven Qi and Chen Hao's Five Qi to breathe. He breathed nine times and held his breath, feeling that there was a fusion of essence and qi in his body. In fact, cheongwan is Wei Zi.

What does Wei Zi Xing Jun mean?

During the Six Dynasties, the belief of "Three Officials" put forward by Tianshidao regarded Wei Zi as the God of Celestial Officials in charge of examinations and the emperor of the stars in the sky. After the Wei and Jin Dynasties, it gradually combined with the belief of the three officials, and was finally recognized as the heavenly official among the three officials of heaven, earth and water. According to many Taoist classics, Emperor Wei Zi was regarded as a celestial official, and his duties and orders were described in detail. According to the Lingbao School's Merit Classic of the Three Commandments of Dong Xuan Lingbao, Shangyuan Yipin Tiangong, Zhongyuan Yipin Tiangong and Xia Yuan Yipin Tiangong were in charge of the three heavenly palaces and thirty-six celestial palaces respectively, and were responsible for checking the merits and demerits of immortals and people in heaven, earth and water. Among them, the name of the first heavenly palace presided over by Shangyuan Yipin Tiangong was Wei Zi Palace, the Seven Treasures of Taiyuan. Although it is not clearly pointed out in Buddhist scriptures that Tianguan is the emperor of Wei Zi, it can be confirmed that Tianguan is the emperor of Wei Zi, and so is the discussion of other Taoist scriptures in the Six Dynasties and later.

The Way to Worship Wei Zi Xing Jun in Shangyuan Festival

On the Lantern Festival, after paying homage to Wei Zi Xing Jun, he lit an oil lamp and put it in the south, facing the lights in the south. Then press a piece of red paper under the lamp (just pour some oil into the saucer), preferably a wax lamp (you can't buy red candles and put them in the saucer, otherwise it can only be wax instead of a lamp). After the lights are on, read the letters of the three officials and the three officials. Read the letters patent and the gods well, mainly the heavenly officials. Look at the patent certificate first, then look at the gods, one by one. The specific order is as follows: read the Tianguan imperial edict first, then read the Tianguan curse; Then read the imperial edict of local officials, then read the imperial edict of local officials, and finally read the imperial edict of water officials and then read the imperial edict of water officials.
