Why is azalea called azalea?

Legend has it that there was an emperor in ancient Shu named Du Yu, who was very affectionate with the queen. Later, he was killed by a traitor and died miserably. His soul became a cuckoo, and he cried and wailed in the queen's garden every day. The tears it shed were drops of red blood, which dyed the beautiful flowers in the queen's garden red, so later generations named it azalea.

The queen heard the cuckoo's cry, saw the deep red blood and understood that it was her husband's soul. Sad, I cried day and night, "My son is back, my son is back", and finally I died of depression. Her soul turned into a flaming azalea, which bloomed with cuckoo in Shan Ye, so this azalea is also called azalea. This is the story of a cuckoo weeping blood and a son whining. The love of flowers and birds in this life is an immortal legend.
