The history of Mingxia Cave

The cave was dug in the second year of Jin Dading (1 162), and the word "Mingxia Cave" was engraved on the forehead of the cave, which was written by the calligrapher Wang in the Qing Dynasty. Li Zhiming, a Taoist priest in the Yuan Dynasty, practiced in this cave. During the reign of Emperor Kangxi in the Qing Dynasty (1662— 1772), lightning struck the sky directly, and most of it went underground. More than 30 Taoist buildings, such as Sanqing Hall and Doum Palace, were originally built next to the cave, and some of them were destroyed by flash floods. In front of the cave is a flat cliff, such as a platform, from which you can overlook the sea and the cliffs and gullies. This is the famous scenic spot "Mingxia Sanqi" in Laoshan Mountain. brief introduction

Mingxia Cave is the terminal of the aerial cable car. Walking westward along the mountain trail, you can see that there is a magnificent temple-Mingxia Cave on the half slope of Xuanwu Peak, the main peak of Kunlun Mountain. It is more than 650 meters above sea level. This cave is formed by the collapse and overlapping of huge stones. In the second year of Jin Dading (1 162), a temple was built in this cave, and the word "Mingxia Cave" was reportedly written by Qiu Changchun. The original cave is tall and spacious, built here by Sun Ziyang, a Taoist priest in the Ming Dynasty, and has a stone carving Sun Ziyang's Book. During the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty, it was destroyed by thunder and fire, and the collapse was very small. The main existing building in Mingxia Cave is Doum Palace, which was built in the Yuan Dynasty and has been well preserved after renovation. Gong Xi, built in Kannonji in the late Qing Dynasty, has been destroyed by mountain torrents and rocks. The ancient trees such as boxwood, magnolia and crape myrtle near the site are all over 100 years old. There is a flat cliff terrace in front of Mingxia Cave, which is flat and wide, with three peaks in rows, facing the sea, and four beautiful Zhou Song. It is a good place to watch. Watch the sunrise and sunset, and the changes are endless. "Morning glow" is one of the scenic spots in Laoshan Mountain.

Everyone is familiar with the mention of Li Bai, a famous poet in Tang Dynasty in China. Li Bai has hundreds of drinking poems, which are called "poetry immortals". The sculpture here is Li Bai, and sitting opposite is Wu Yun, a court musician and Taoist priest of the Tang Xuanchao. It is said that Li and Wu are good friends. In court, one writes poetry, the other composes music, and the partners are very tacit. In order to develop ideas and inspire, the two often visit the famous mountains and rivers of the motherland together. When they visited the flat peach bee behind the Taiqing Palace, they were moved by this scene, and * * * jointly created "Qingping Tune Wang Yong Mupan Peach Peak", which has become the rhyme and music of the altar sutra used by Taoist priests in Laoshan. Laoshan left a lifelong impression on Li Bai. Li Bai wrote the famous sentence "I once went to the East China Sea, and Laoshan had dinner in Xia Zi ...", which made the fairy mountain of Laoshan have an indissoluble bond with the poet fairy.
