Pope's introduction

The word "Pope" was translated from "Pontifex" (priest), which originally referred to the polytheism of the Roman emperor "Pontifex Maximus" (the highest priest and high priest). Pontifex Maximus is now the political and diplomatic title of Pope, the head of state of Vatican City, a Christian country, but the word "Pope" in Chinese is just an informal common title, which is easy to cause ambiguity. The official translation of the papal title is: the supreme pope of the universal church. Pope 1 concurrently serves as the Pope of the Catholic Church and is elected by cardinals from all over the world. In addition to voluntarily abdicating, he can hold office for life and cannot be removed from office. However, the cardinal has the right to establish another opposition pope, or to imprison or exile him. In the Middle Ages, the status of Pope was almost equivalent to that of Emperor China, surpassing the secular kings in Western Europe. At the end of Ming Dynasty and the beginning of Qing Dynasty, he was translated into Chinese as "Emperor of Education", and later simplified to "Pope" today, which influenced neighboring countries which are also Chinese characters cultural circles. However, any formal or informal address to the Pope in the western world has nothing to do with "the emperor" or "the emperor" except that "the Roman emperor once served concurrently" and "the Pope once held a position beyond the secular monarch". The Pope is consistent with other priests (priests) in theocracy. In religious affairs, the proposals of the Pope and the Bishop need to be discussed and voted by the Bishops' Conference, and finally promulgated by the Pope on behalf of the whole church in the name of the heir of St. Peter, the apostle of Jesus. And this result must be correct, which is the privilege theory of "the infallibility of the Pope" and "the authority of the first apostle".
