History of the Forbidden City

The Forbidden City is also called the Forbidden City. Since ancient times, China has paid attention to the planning concept of harmony between man and nature, and will use the stars in the sky to correspond to the planning of the capital, so as to highlight the legitimacy of political power and the supremacy of imperial power. The Emperor of Heaven lives in Wei Zi Palace, and the emperor on earth will call himself the Emperor of Heaven, so the residence of the Emperor of Heaven also needs to correspond to the Emperor of Heaven.

History of the Forbidden City

The Forbidden City was built in strict accordance with the principle of building an imperial capital with a left ancestor and a right residence. The whole Forbidden City, in terms of architectural layout, has been integrated into a whole through the changes and ups and downs of its shape.

In the 18th year of Yongle (1420), Beijing Palace was completed, and a fire broke out the following year, and all the first three halls were destroyed by fire.

After the Revolution of 1911, the Forbidden City should have been completely nationalized, but at that time Aisin Giorro Puyi was still allowed to temporarily live in the "back bedroom" part of the Forbidden City.
