The origin of Arbor Day.

March 12 is our own Arbor Day and the anniversary of Sun Yat-sen's death. Dr. Sun Yat-sen attached great importance to forestry construction before his death. When he was the interim president of the Republic of China, he established the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, and the Mountain Forest Department was in charge of the national forestry administration.

In February, the 6th meeting of the 5th the NPC Standing Committee passed a resolution to designate March 12 as China Arbor Day. The significance of this resolution lies in mobilizing the people of all ethnic groups in China to actively plant trees and speeding up the greening of the motherland and various forestry construction.

Our country designated the date of Sun Yat-sen's death as Arbor Day, also to commemorate Sun Yat-sen's great achievements, symbolizing that his unfinished wish will be realized in new China and will be better realized.
