The main pests and diseases of Lagerstroemia indica are sooty blotch and Lagerstroemia indica scale insects, which can be controlled by spraying carbendazim 500 times in sooty blotch. Lagerstroemia scale flies every year.

Sometimes axillary buds, leaves and branches are covered with small white spots, which make the whole branch black and introduce fallen leaves and flowers. From the end of March to the beginning of April every year, the nymph branches were smeared continuously with omethoate stock solution 10 ~ 15d/time and twice. The scale insects occurring in the growing period can be controlled by spraying omethoate with a ratio of 1000 ~ 1500.
