A Case Study from "Fairy Leaves" to "Longevity Tea"

? 1. Why is mulberry leaf called "immortal leaf"?

? In China, mulberry planting and sericulture have a history of more than 5,000 years. Mulberry branches are picked in spring, mulberry leaves are picked in summer, mulberry leaves are frosted in autumn, and mulberry skins are shaved in winter, which shows that mulberry trees are all treasures. Mulberry leaf is mulberry leaf, which is not only the food of silkworm babies, but also a Chinese herbal medicine with medicinal value, and can also be used as a health food suitable for all ages.

? Chinese medicine believes that mulberry leaves are cold, sweet and bitter, and belong to lung and liver meridians. Because it looks like a fan, it is called an "iron fan". The leaves are complete, large and thick, yellow-green, crisp and free of impurities. Mulberry leaves should be tender for feeding silkworms and old for medicine. Zhang Shouyi, a famous doctor in the Republic of China, pointed out: "Mulberry leaves are better with old cream, and they want to benefit qi and strengthen the body." Therefore, most medicinal mulberry leaves are harvested after frost, which is called "frosted mulberry leaves" or "winter mulberry leaves". Shennong's Classic of Materia Medica lists it as a Chinese medicine (a kind of drug classification), and thinks that it has the effect of dispelling cold and heat and sweating, and can be used to dispel wind and heat, clear lung and moisten dryness, clear liver and improve eyesight. It is often used with chrysanthemum to treat colds, coughs and eye diseases caused by exogenous wind and heat. "Compendium of Materia Medica" records: "Decocting tea with juice can quench thirst, relieve fatigue and cough, improve eyesight and grow hair." The ancients called it "immortal leaf", especially good at clearing lung heat and moistening lung dryness, and treating fever, cough and yellow phlegm caused by wind heat, or dry cough, scanty phlegm and itchy throat caused by dry heat. The lung moistening effect is better after intensive baking.

Modern research results show that mulberry leaves have the functions of lowering blood sugar, blood lipid and blood pressure, and can improve liver function and delay aging. You can make tea or porridge with boiling water every day, and you can also wash your face with boiling water to treat facial acne and brown spots and relieve the feeling of dry skin in autumn and winter or the elderly.

? Modern research shows that mulberry leaves have nourishing and anti-aging effects similar to those of ginseng, so it has the reputation of "ginseng is hot tonic, mulberry leaves are clear tonic" and has good nutritional, health care and medicinal values.
