The Historical Origin of Beiyue Temple

Hengshan Mountain has a long history, formerly known as Gaoshi, and later renamed Lushan Mountain, hence the name hun yuan. Later, it was changed to Xuanwu Mountain. At that time, the cultural landscape of Hengshan Mountain (damao mountain, Fuping, Hebei) was destroyed in the Ming Dynasty.

Some busybodies forged a false name, such as Zhang's "Fairy Trace", went up to Xuanwu Mountain and called it Hengshan Mountain, and gradually persuaded the local people to constantly ask to worship Beiyue instead. Shunzhi accepted this view when the Qing Dynasty entered Shanhaiguan. Since then, it was named Hengshan Mountain, and Beiyue moved to worship.

During Liao and Jin Dynasties, Hengshan was the cultural state at that time. There are many academies, cliff carvings and couplets. In addition, the Hengshan Mountain is windy and the climate changes dramatically. Most buildings are built on cliffs or rocks, forming a unique and steep feature.
