Gold and bronze Buddha statues in the Northern Wei Dynasty
Northern Qi Dynasty: The center of (550-577) was Ye (now Linzhang, Hebei). The sculpture style of the Northern Qi Dynasty still inherited the style of the late Northern Wei Dynasty. The outstanding feature is that the figures in the sculpture are outstanding, and there is no excessive emphasis on the three-dimensional carving of clothing patterns. Some are only symbolically engraved on the neckline, cuffs and where the skirt meets the foot. This technique, which does not emphasize the carving of clothes patterns, is obviously closely related to Sarnath's sculpture.
The Buddha's face is full and round, with small facial features and moderate figure. On the side, the body is mostly flat, with a protruding abdomen and a flat chest. Buddha bun is mostly moist and round, and the inner bun is not as towering as the mountains in the early Northern Wei Dynasty. Most statues do not carve hairlines, and some lightly carve spiral hairlines.
