Function and efficacy of essential oil

The function and efficacy of essential oil can stimulate the front lobe of the brain to secrete endorphins and enkephalins, making the spirit comfortable.

Essential oil refers to the general name of volatile aromatic substances processed and extracted from aromatic plants or animals. Generally, essential oils are extracted from flowers, leaves, roots, seeds, fruits, barks, resins, wood cores and other parts of plants by steam distillation and cold pressing. Volatile aromatic substances are extracted by liposuction or solvent extraction.

Essential oils are divided into diluted (compound essential oil) and undiluted (single essential oil) such as clove essential oil. Essential oils are highly volatile and will evaporate quickly when exposed to air, so they must be kept in a dark bottle that can be sealed. Essential oil in a broad sense refers to the products containing volatile substances processed and extracted from aromatic plants or animals.

Aromatic substance

But the essential oil used in daily life refers to steam distillation, or pressing, or cold pressing, or dry distillation. Products containing aromatic substances extracted from aromatic plants are mostly liquid at room temperature, and only a few varieties are solid. Essential oil is extracted from leaves, flowers, seeds, fruits, roots, barks, resins, wood cores and other parts of plants by steam distillation, cold pressing, liposuction, solvent extraction and other methods, with high concentration of aromatic and volatile substances.

Some plants can extract essential oil from several parts of the plant except one part. For example, bitter orange can extract essential oil from buds, leaves and fruits. Not all plants can produce essential oil, only plants containing balsam glands can produce essential oil. Different plants have different distribution of balsam glands, some of which are on petals, leaves, roots or trunks. After extracting the sachet, it becomes what we call "plant essential oil".
