The main structure of Guangzhou South Railway Station is divided into four layers:

From bottom to top, the station structure is divided into four floors: underground floor (subway station and parking lot), ground floor (entrance and exit floor, ticket purchasing floor), ground floor (elevated platform floor, east drop-off platform) and ground floor (elevated waiting floor, west drop-off platform), which can accommodate up to 5300 people at the same time.

Three floors above ground

Functions: ticket collection, ticket exchange, passengers getting off, entering the station, security check and waiting.

The third floor above ground is an elevated waiting floor, with 1~28 ticket gates, 1 and 28 independent ticket gates, A2 and 3A, A4 and 5A*** ticket gates, B3 and 2B, B5 and 4B*** ticket gates, etc. from east to west, and the waiting area is 7 1722 square meters.

Manual ticket office No.5 can go through the change formalities, and automatic ticket pick-up machines are placed at both ends. The trains in Nanguang and Guiguang directions do not support the use of ID cards, and passengers must exchange paper tickets before checking in.

It is the entrance floor, where passengers who come by taxi or by car can stop, check and wait.

Xiping platform on this floor is a drop-off platform, which can only drop off passengers, and the parking time of vehicles cannot exceed 3 minutes.

Bottom layer 2

Functions: getting on, getting off, transferring, dropping off passengers and entering the station.

1 (platform 1) and 15 (platform 28) are side platforms, and platforms 2 (platforms 2 and 3) to 14 (platforms 26 and 27) are island platforms;

From east to west, there are Wuhan-Guangzhou lower freight yard, Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong freight yard, Wuhan-Guangzhou upper freight yard, Guangzhou-Zhuhai railway freight yard, Guiyang-Guangzhou freight yard, Nanguang freight yard, 15 platform, and 28 arrival and departure lines, and the conditions for the introduction of Guangfo-Zhao intercity railway are reserved;

The southern end supports convenient transfer, and passengers with through train tickets can return to the waiting room on the third floor from this floor to change to the next train, which can save a lot of time;

It's the entrance floor, where passengers who come by taxi or bus can enter the station. After entering the station, they need to take the elevator to the third floor for security check and waiting.

Dongping platform on this floor is a drop-off platform, which can only drop off passengers, and the parking time of vehicles cannot exceed 3 minutes.

first floor

Functions: purchasing tickets, collecting tickets, changing tickets, getting in and out of the station, taking buses, taking taxis, and picking up relatives and friends.

The bottom layer is the entrance layer. 15~28 (including A and B) ticket gate is closer to the west entrance, and 1~ 14 (excluding A and B) ticket gate is closer to the east entrance. Choosing the corresponding entrance according to the ticket gate marked in the upper right corner of the ticket can save time. After entering the station, take the elevator to the third floor for security check.

It is the ticket purchase floor, with three arched passages (south, middle and north), automatic ticket vending machines in the north-south passage, and manual ticket offices in the East Square and the West Square;

It is the exit floor, and the exit is located in the middle arched passage, reaching the bus station (West Square) to the west and the bus station (the basement of East Square) to the east;

Bus stop: Located in the West Square, No.26 bus (including night bus 6 1, night bus 79, night bus 102) can reach South China Olympic Park, Panyu Chimelong Happy World, Guangzhou University Town, Zhongshan No.8 Road Terminal (night bus) and other places. The night bus runs from 22:00 to 1:00, and the rest lines run from 6: 30 to 2 1: 20 or from 8: 00 to 2 1: 20.

Underground level 1

Functions: subway, car, parking lot

Subway station: The color of the station is grayish yellow, and there is a 13 passage leading to the first floor. The service hours are from 05: 55 to 23: 35. Guangzhou Metro Line 2 and Guangzhou Metro Line 7 have been opened. The planned routes include Foshan Metro Line 2 and Guangzhou Metro Line 22 (South Station Express). Line 2 and Line 7 have 1 side platform and 1 public island platform respectively, and there are two transfer modes: parallel and tunnel.

Bus Station: Guangzhou South Bus Station is set up, and there are buses to Shenzhen, Dongguan, Zhongshan, Zhuhai and other surrounding areas of Guangzhou.

Taxis: Taxis in Panyu, Foshan and Guangzhou are waiting in line according to the running route.

Parking lot: South and North underground parking lots are located in the south and north side roads of the main building, and are divided into four parking lots: South 1, South 2, North 1 and North 2. South 1 and South 2 underground parking lots are interconnected, and North 1 and North 2 underground parking lots are interconnected, and the middle of the north and south underground parking lots is separated by Metro Line 2, so they cannot be interconnected. East and west parking lots are all newly built around. The east parking lot is located on the north side of the intersection of Shixing Avenue South and South Station North Road, and the west parking lot is located on the west side of the intersection of Shishan Avenue South and South Station South Road. The network car must be parked in the east and west parking lots to wait for passengers.
