Geographical environment of Dashushan Forest Park in Hefei

Hefei Dashushan Forest Park is near the urban area. Due to the influence of human activities, there are few kinds of wild animals, mostly forest shrub birds, such as grey magpie, woodpecker and leaf warbler.

In Dashu Mountain, south of Hefei Wildlife Park, most animals are kept in captivity. There are mainly deer, gibbons, red pandas, ostriches, elephants, hippos, lions, east white tigers, giant pandas and so on. The zonal vegetation in Hefei Dashushan Forest Park belongs to subtropical deciduous, evergreen and broad-leaved mixed forest belt.

There are 508 species of vascular plants 120 families, 3 15 genera, including 4 species of ferns 13 genera 14, 47 species of gymnosperms/7 families 19 genera and 447 species of angiosperms 103 families, 283 genera. Evergreen ornamental trees include Chinese fir, masson pine, loblolly pine, bamboo, heather, magnolia grandiflora, cedar and holly. Deciduous trees mainly include gravel, Pterocarya stenoptera, Dalbergia odorifera, Pistacia chinensis, Sophora japonica, Liquidambar formosana and so on. Shrubs include Zheshu, Lagerstroemia indica and Zanthoxylum bungeanum.
