Whose title is Hongwu?

On the fourth day of the first month in the 28th year of Yuan Dynasty (1368 65438+1October 23rd), Zhu Yuanzhang ascended the throne and established Yuan Hongwu. He imitated "Ji Lan" in a two-year system, and took leap July in the 28th year of Yuan Shundi and August in the first year of Ming Hongwu as leap July. So Hongwu became the first national title of the Ming Dynasty.

In June of the 17th year of Yuan Dynasty, when Zhu Yuanzhang was in Huizhou, he heard that Zhu Sheng, a bachelor of Yuan Dynasty, was very knowledgeable. One day, he visited incognito. According to legend, when entering the village, it happened that Zhu Sheng's neighbor Hong Jia built a house and put it on the beam. Zhu Yuanzhang saw a couplet hanging under the roof beam: "The vertical house welcomes the ecliptic day, and the upper beam welcomes the purple star", and the horizontal approval is "Purple light shines high".

Zhu Yuanzhang thought, today is not an auspicious day, why is it Liang? When I inquired, I realized that it was the day when Zhu Shengding wrote the couplet. Zhu Yuanzhang suddenly understood that Zhu Sheng knew that I was visiting today, so he chose this day to make a beam, and compared me to the star of China, which was the purpose of his peanuts.

Zhu Sheng immediately asked him about his plan to defend the country. He talked about three strategies: building a wall to accumulate grain and slowly becoming king. Zhu Yuanzhang carefully pondered and was deeply impressed by his extraordinary knowledge and adopted it all. Later, when Zhu Yuanzhang became emperor, he was impressed by the auspicious couplets on the beams of Hongjia Mansion, so he named the year number "Hongwu".

Zhu Yuanzhang's Political Measures

1 social welfare

The era of Zhu Yuanzhang was one of the best social welfare periods in ancient China. Free nursing homes (nursing homes), free hospitals (missing gardens) and free cemeteries (nursing homes) have all appeared. Zhu Yuanzhang also tried out the policy of "affordable housing" and ordered a pilot project in Nanjing to build public houses in the suburbs and arrange for homeless people to live. It is the earliest national free welfare public housing in the world.

Step 2 restrain businessmen

In order to belittle businessmen, Zhu Yuanzhang stipulated that farmers could wear silk, yarn, silk and cloth. Businessmen can only wear clothes made of silk and cloth. Businessmen will be restricted from taking exams and becoming officials.

3. Build water conservancy projects

Zhu Yuanzhang attached great importance to water conservancy and disaster relief. At the beginning of his accession to the throne, he ordered local officials to report any suggestions on water conservancy put forward by the people in time, or they would be punished. By 1395, about 40987 ponds were opened and about 4 162 rivers were dredged.
