Nanjing Zhongshan Botanical Garden is located in Zhongshan Scenic Area, Xuanwu District, Nanjing. Also called Institute of Botany, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Jiangsu Province. It belongs to China Academy of Sciences. Founded in 1929 (18th year of the Republic of China), it was originally named as the Memorial Botanical Garden of Prime Minister Cemetery. It is the first national botanical garden in China and one of the four largest botanical gardens in China. Zhongshan Botanical Garden is the first botanical garden in China to join the International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources, and a member of the IUCN Endangered Plants Committee.
