Is the warrior Guan Yu or Yue Fei? Which of them is more qualified to be a soldier?
The ten philosophers of Wu Temple are: Wu 'an Jun Bai Qi, Qin; Han Xin and Han in Huaiyin; Zhuge Liang, Prime Minister of Shu; Li Jing, the right servant of Tang Shangshu: a British public servant in Tang Dynasty; Sean, the young prince of Han Dynasty; Qi fu; Sun Wu, general of Wu State; Wei Xihe satrap Wu Qi; And Le Yi, a monarch of Yan Guo Chang. The first five of these ten people are listed on the left of the temple, and the last five are listed on the right.
There are five Spring and Autumn Period and Warring States Period, two Han Dynasties, 1 Three Kingdoms, and two Tang Dynasties. Jiang Ziya, a priest, was born in the late Shang Dynasty and early Zhou Dynasty.
Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty built a martial temple and formed a sacrificial culture to show his image of respecting talents and attract talents from all over the world for his own use. However, Wu Temple was not called Wu Temple at that time, but called Taigong Fu Shang Temple. At that time, Jiang Ziya was named Wu, and Taigong Temple was called Wu Temple for short. Jiang Ziya's position rose to the same level as that of Confucius, the chief priest of the Confucius Temple, which means that Confucius had the most achievements in literature.
At this time, although Jiang Ziya was the chief priest of the Wu Temple, he was not called a samurai, but a samurai king. At that time, there were 64 people who offered sacrifices to ancient and modern famous soldiers in Wu Temple. These 64 people were famous military talents from the Western Zhou Dynasty to the Tang Dynasty, or people with military achievements, including Zhang Liao, Guan Yu, Zhou Yu, Lu Xun, Wargo, Zhang Fei, Monroe, Lu Kang, yang hu, Du Yu and others in the Three Kingdoms period.
At this time, a sacrificial structure of one master and one deputy, ten philosophers and seventy-two generals was formed in the Wu Temple, corresponding to one saint, one Asia and ten philosophers and seventy-two sons in the Confucian Temple. Therefore, the increase of 64 generals in the Wu Temple is actually to correspond to the Confucian Temple and satisfy the civil and military officials. The so-called holy king, Asian sage, ten philosophers and seventy-two sons are all objects of sacrifice, which shows the status of sacrifice.
At this time, Jiang Ziya in the Wu Temple was called the Holy King, and Sean was an Asian saint. Therefore, from the Tang Dynasty, Jiang Ziya was called the Great Xia. Because he is the holy king of the priests in the Wu Temple, he is called samurai for short, which is the origin of samurai. Jiang Ziya is also known as the first warrior in the history of China.
Second, the origin of Guan Yu was when he first entered the Wu Temple. At that time, 64 famous soldiers were added, and Guan Yu was one of them. At that time, Guan Yu's position was average. After the Song Dynasty, the imperial court still followed the sacrificial system of Wu Temple in Tang Dynasty, but the number of people who sacrificed in Wu Temple increased and decreased.
In the early Song Dynasty, there were 23 famous soldiers in the Wu Temple, which were on a par with Guan Ying in the Han Dynasty, Ban Chao and Qin in the Tang Dynasty. At the same time, 23 famous soldiers were dismissed, including: Bai Qi, Wu Qi, Sun Bin, Lian Po, Han Xin, Peng Yue, Zhou Yafu, Wargo, Zhang Fei and Li Guangbi. The reason why the Song Dynasty did this was to select famous stars according to its own standards. Guan Yu is here.
At the end of the Northern Song Dynasty, during the reign of Song Huizong and Evonne, the list of famous Wu temples changed again. The original ten philosophers were removed and changed to seventy-two. At this time, Jiang Ziya was the chief priest, and then ten people were sacrificed in the temple: Guan Zhong, Sun Wu, Le Yi, Zhuge Liang, Li Ji, Tian Rangcha, Fan Li, Han Xin, Li Jing and Guo Ziyi. It is slightly different from the ten philosophers in Tang Dynasty.
Later, the number of 72 famous soldiers also increased, such as Tian Lei, Wuqi, Sun Bin and Lian Po. These people were eliminated during the Zhao Kuangyin period, while Guan Yu, Zhang Fei and Deng Ai in the Three Kingdoms period rejoined the ranks of famous soldiers, so Guan Yu re-entered the Wu Temple in the late Northern Song Dynasty.
Seventy-two famous soldiers in the Song Dynasty were divided into three classes, among which Sean was in the first class, Guan Zhong, Sun Wu, Le Yi, Zhuge Liang, Li Ji, Tian Rangcha, Fan Li, Han Xin, Li Jing and Guo Ziyi were in the second class, and others were in the third class, including Guan Yu.
Song Huizong attached great importance to Guan Yu, not only rejoined him in the Wu Temple, but also sealed Guan Yu from1102 ~1123 to 2 1 four times. Guan Yu was named Zhonghuigong, Zhenjun Chongning, Wang An Wu and King An Wu Yong respectively. When Guan Yu died, his title was only Hou Ting of Han Shou. At the end of the Northern Song Dynasty, he was suddenly named An, paying special attention to two words: Yong. This shows that Song Huizong and Zhao Ji named Guan Yu because of Guan Yu's benevolence and courage. Righteousness means loyalty and benevolence, and courage means courage and fearlessness.
After the demise of the Northern Song Dynasty, the Southern Song Dynasty was established, which basically inherited the arrangement of the Wu Temple at the end of the Northern Song Dynasty and sealed Guan Yu twice. During the Koguryo period in the Song Dynasty, Guan Yu was named King Wu 'an, King Wu 'an. Guan Yu has been the king since the Song Dynasty, with Wu 'an king being the most used one, and then all kinds of posthumous title were added, but Guan Yu is still only one of the seventy-two generals in the Wu Temple. During the Song Zhenzong period, Guan Sheng Temple with Guan Yu as the main sacrificial object began to appear.
After the demise of the Song Dynasty, the Yuan Dynasty also inherited the sacrifices of the temple, sealed Guan Yu twice, and reduced the number of celebrities in the Wu Temple many times. But the main sacrifice of Wu Temple is still Jiang Ziya. After the Ming Dynasty, Zhu Yuanzhang put Jiang Ziya in the imperial temples of past dynasties and abolished the Wu Temple, so the Wu Temple no longer existed in the early Ming Dynasty, and the celebrities who dedicated it no longer offered sacrifices.
During the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty, the Wu Temple was rebuilt. Emperor Wanli of Ming Shenzong not only named Guan Yu as "the God of the Three Realms, the town of Weiyuan", but also regarded Guan Yu as the chief priest of the Wu Temple and accompanied Zhou Cang and Guan Ping. Because Guan Yu's title is "Guan Shengdi" and he is also the chief priest of the martial arts temple in the Ming Dynasty, Guan Yu replaced Jiang Ziya as the new martial arts sage in the Ming Dynasty.
So Guan Yu became a warrior of the Ming Dynasty. Later, the last emperor of the Ming Dynasty, Emperor Mingsizong Chongzhen, named Guan Yu as "the real yuan should show the bright wing of the Han Buddha". Since the Ming Dynasty, Guan Yu's position as the main god of the martial temple and Confucius' position as the main god of the Confucian temple have been enshrined. At the end of the Ming Dynasty, the sacrifice to Guan Yu reached its peak. At that time, there were nearly 100 Guandi temples inside and outside Beijing.
After entering the Qing Dynasty, Guan Yu's sacrifice reached its peak again. In the eighth year of Yongzheng, in A.D. 1730, Yong Zhengdi, the emperor sejong of the Qing Dynasty, officially named Guan Yu as a martial saint, and established a system of offering sacrifices to Guan Yu, that is, Guandi Temple, which was juxtaposed with Confucius Temple and collectively referred to as Wuwen Temple. Throughout the Qing Dynasty, Guan Yu's position was quite high, replacing Jiang Ziya as the new warrior sage.
In the 296-year history of the Qing Dynasty, Guan Yu was sealed ten times, and the last time was in 1875. At that time, Emperor Guangxu named Guan Yu as "loyalty, SHEN WOO, spiritual protection, benevolence and courage, protecting the country and people, sincerely appeasing and praising Xuande and Guan Sheng the Great". The names are getting longer and longer, and there are more and more posthumous title, all of which are sealed to match the sacrifice of Wu Temple. Up to now, Guan Yu is also the main sacrifice of Wu Temple.
3. Is Yue Fei a warrior? Yue Fei was a native of the late Northern Song Dynasty and early Southern Song Dynasty. He mainly lived in the Southern Song Dynasty. He was an anti-gold star in the Southern Song Dynasty. Yue Fei is not only outstanding in personal force, but also first-class in training and leading troops to fight. At least in the early Southern Song Dynasty, no one could match him. Because of his disagreement with the government, he was framed to death by Qin Gui on trumped-up charges.
Yue Fei was found guilty and killed under the auspices of Song Gaozong Zhao Gou, but many people knew that he was wronged. It was not until 20 years after he was killed that Song Xiaozong wrote to rehabilitate him and gave Yue Fei the title of "Wu Mu, Zhong Wu" and King of Hubei to posthumous title, but Yue Fei did not enter the Wu Temple in the Southern Song Dynasty.
In the Southern Song Dynasty, in order to commemorate Yue Fei, the land temple in Lin 'an Imperial College, the capital of the Southern Song Dynasty, was renamed "Zhongxian Temple" and Yue Fei was named "King of Loyalty and Righteousness". This was a sacrifice to Yue Fei, but it was not a sacrifice in Wu Temple and had nothing to do with it.
After the demise of the Song Dynasty, the Yuan Dynasty reorganized the Wu Temple, and only ten philosophers were kept, and all the others were deleted, so there was no Yue Fei in the Wu Temple in the Yuan Dynasty. However, during the Yuan Shundi period, Yue Fei's country name was added with the word "Baoyi" on the basis of the country name of the Song Dynasty. In the Ming Dynasty, due to the abolition of the Wu Temple by Zhu Yuanzhang, the Wu Temple did not exist, and Yue Fei was enshrined in the temples of emperors and enjoyed by Song Taizu. Posthumous title remains loyal to Wu.
During the period of Emperor Wanli of Ming Shenzong, Yue Fei was named "Three Emperors" and Guan Yu was also named "Three Emperors". At this time, although Yue Fei's title was similar to Guan Yu's, Guan Yu's entry into the Wu Temple was the main sacrifice, but Yue Fei did not enter the Wu Temple, but there were many Yue Fei temples among the people, also known as the "Song and Wu Kings Temple" or "Zhongwu Temple", which were the most famous.
Therefore, in the Ming Dynasty, Yue Fei did not enter the Wu Temple, but more was a folk sacrifice. In the Qing Dynasty, Guan Yu was still the main sacrifice in Wu Temple, and there was no Yue Fei. However, some temples called Guan Yue Temple juxtaposed Yue Fei and Guan Yu, but the number was small, and it was not the mainstream sacrifice.
During the folk Yuan Shikai period, the Wu Temple was rebuilt again, and Guan Yu and Yue Fei were put in together. At this time, Yue Fei really entered the Wu Temple, and it was also the only time to enter. At this time, the Wu Temple was called a shrine, but Yuan Shikai soon fell, and this matter was dropped. Because Yuan Shikai was not recognized, Yue Fei entered the Wu Temple in a mess and was not recognized. To be precise, it is not recognized.
4. Who is more qualified to be a soldier, Yue Fei or Guan Yu? First of all, you have to understand what is the standard of a soldier? The first warrior is Jiang Ziya, and Jiang Ziya is also known as the originator of military strategists. In fact, the earliest ancestor of a military strategist was Chiyou, not Jiang Ziya. The image of Chiyou is not very good in Confucianism, and Confucianism became the mainstream thought of China after the Han Dynasty. Therefore, when Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty set up a martial temple, Jiang Ziya was chosen as the priest, that is, the warrior.
Jiang Ziya was a hero who helped Zhou Wenwang and Zhou Wuwang to establish the Western Zhou Dynasty, and made great achievements in military affairs, politics and governing the country. So there are two main reasons for choosing Jiang Ziya as the warrior:
First, Jiang Ziya had military talent and thought, which was unparalleled at that time.
Second, Jiang Ziya's loyalty to the monarchs of Zhou Wenwang and Zhou Wuwang was commendable.
In addition, Guan Yu was also named warrior by Song Huizong Evonne, Ming Shenzong Wanli and Qing Sejong Yongzheng. Guan Yu's original position in the Wu Temple was not prominent, not even the ten philosophers, but he was promoted by the emperor from many famous stars to become a warrior. Naturally, he had his reasons, mainly:
Guan Yu's loyalty and courage are very consistent with the Confucian Five Permanent Principles (benevolence, righteousness, courtesy, wisdom and faith). Guan Yu's benevolence is very good to his foot soldiers; Guan Yu's benevolence and righteousness, he has a clear distinction between good and evil; Guan Yu's gift, he and Liu Bei and Zhang Fei are brothers; Guan Yu's wisdom, he can distinguish right from wrong; Guan Yu's letter, he was loyal to Liu Bei all his life.
Guan Yu is an example for the monarch. For ministers, Guan Yu is the object of respect. For the people, Guan Yu is an idol. Guan Yu met the needs of all levels of feudal society. Even in Taoism and Buddhism, Guan Yu joined the worship of Guan Yu. In the folk, Guan Yu has evolved into the ancestor of Wu Caishen and all walks of life, and has become a kind of cultural worship.
Guan Yu's military ability was one of the best figures in that era, and he created a record of defeating the enemy Yan Liang in the Great War, and at the same time he also had a record of subliming China. In contrast, Yue Fei's comprehensive ability surpassed Guan Yu, not only Yue Fei surpassed Guan Yu, but also many famous talents in Wu Temple surpassed Guan Yu. However, the criterion for choosing a martial artist is not military ability or comprehensive ability. Just refer to Jiang Ziya and Guan Yu. On the one hand, there are two main criteria for the selection of martial artists.
Although Yue Fei's comprehensive ability exceeds Guan Yu's, Yue Fei has two shortcomings, which make it difficult for him to become a soldier:
First, Yue Fei appeared too late. It was the Southern Song Dynasty. Jiang Ziya and Guan Yu, for example, were deified in the end because they appeared early. Jiang Ziya was deified in the Ming Dynasty and Guan Yu was deified in the Song Dynasty. Yue Fei appeared too late and had no advantage in time.
Second, Yue Fei was convicted and executed by the court. Although he was rehabilitated, there was a process that prevented him from entering the Wu Temple in the Southern Song Dynasty. In the Yuan Dynasty, the Wu Temple was simplified, with only 1 1 people, but it was abolished in the Ming Dynasty.
Therefore, for various reasons, Guan Yu is more qualified to be a warrior.
