How to raise a red-billed green parrot?

Peony Parrot is also called Lover Parrot and love birds. It belongs to Parrots, Nautilidae, with 9 species, all of which are from Africa. There are three kinds of peony parrots in China: black peony parrot, red peony parrot and yellow peony parrot.

Peony parrots can breed all year round except in hot summer. Generally, females lay 6-8 eggs per nest, and the incubation period is about 19 days. During the incubation process, the male keeps breastfeeding and feeding the female outside the nest, while the female keeps incubating except foraging, drinking and defecating. After the chicks are hatched, they are fed by females. They can leave the nest in 35-40 days, live independently in about 50 days, and reach sexual maturity in 6 and a half months.

Peony parrot is suitable for group breeding, and the cage area can be properly arranged according to the needs of breeding exhibition, and suitable open space is needed for its sports. There should be moderate light in spring, summer and autumn. It should be kept at 15 ~ 22℃ in winter in the north. Its cage can be surrounded by fine lead wire mesh or thick glass. A small amount (1 ~ 5 pairs) can be raised in the family, which can be modified with wooden boxes. On the one hand, it can be equipped with suitable metal nets, and careful breeding can achieve better ornamental and reproductive effects. Feeding cages need to be padded with clean fine sand for them to eat, which is also conducive to cleaning. The cage is equipped with a habitat with sufficient thickness to facilitate exercise and rest.
