As early as 19 16, when Feng Yuxiang was still the brigade commander of Huncheng Brigade in Beiyang Army, Feng Yuxiang called his five regimental commanders and thirteen battalion commanders the Five Tiger Generals and Thirteen Pacific Commanders. Among them, Song and Lu in Five Tiger Generals, and Tong, Sun Lianzhong and Liu Ruming in Thirteen Guarantees of the Pacific Ocean are all famous anti-Japanese soldiers. Unfortunately, during the Central Plains War, Feng Yuxiang went his own way, did not listen to the persuasion of his subordinates, and held the fluky psychology of "winning is to organize the Jiangnan government, and losing is at the expense of both sides." In the end, he was forced to withdraw from the historical stage of the meeting. The generals of the nationalist army are also falling apart. 1937 after the beginning of the Anti-Japanese War, Chiang Kai-shek hoped to win the hearts of the people and unite against Japan with the help of the signboard of the Northwest Army, so he appointed Feng Yuxiang as the commander-in-chief of the third theater, hoping that Feng Yuxiang could summon the old army and unite and cooperate. Who knows that Feng Yuxiang's scenery at this time has been long, and everyone keeps him at a respectful distance from him. He can't play at all, and he was forced to leave his job after three months.

According to legend, Feng Yuxiang invited a Taoist priest to visit his fortune before the Central Plains War. After reading it, the Taoist priest said that Feng Yuxiang was "born in a knife mountain and died in a sea of fire". Who knows that eighteen years later, Feng Yuxiang had an accident in the Black Sea and died in a fire on his way home by boat from the United States.

I think it is quite accurate for Taoist priests to compare Feng Yuxiang's life with the figures in the Three Kingdoms: he looks like Liu Bei, but he is better than Sun Quan, more ambitious than Dong Zhuo, as treacherous as Lu Bu and as lucky as Yuan Shao.

There are two important reasons why the generals of the Northwest Army fought bravely in the early days of the Anti-Japanese War and died a fair death. First, North China is the defensive zone of the Northwest Army, and it will be guaranteed to death, such as 29 army; Second, it is not Chiang Kai-shek's clique, but is used as a cushion for the Central Army. Of course, not every hero in the nationalist army, everyone is a hero. Shi Yousan, Wu and Pang Bingxun successively defected to the enemy and betrayed the country.
