Daegu Metropolitan City is located in the southeast of the Korean Peninsula, at the southern end of Gyeongsangbuk-do in southern Korea, and is the central city in the hinterland of Lingnan. Daegu is a basin city, surrounded by Bagong Mountain and Pise Mountain. There are two rivers in the urban area, Qinhu River and Xinchuan River.
