Can oil sunflower interplant with sweet potato?

Oil sunflower is generally not interplanted with sweet potato, but it can be interplanted with sweet potato in corn, which is a C4 crop. Compared with rice and other crops, oil sunflower has stronger ability to synthesize starch by CO2, which can improve the accumulation of photosynthetic products and show obvious yield-increasing advantages. Moreover, sweet potato is a creeping tuber crop, and interplanting with corn can make full use of space and sunshine, prolong the effective growth period of corn and sweet potato, and make both crops obtain high yield.

1 Land preparation and ridging

3 timely sowing

Although the weight of a single potato is large, it is difficult to obtain high yield because of the sparse planting density of potato seedlings. When potato seedlings are transplanted horizontally and shallowly, each plant can produce 2 ~ 3 large potatoes with uniform size. After proper fertilization, the weight of potato per plant is higher and it is easy to obtain high yield. Seven days after transplanting sweet potatoes, check the living body withering. For dead seedlings and those lacking wilting, cut strong seedlings to make up for wilting and water them in time to survive.

When the lowest temperature reaches 8℃ and the shallow ground temperature reaches 10 ~ 12℃, corn can be planted. Interplanting sweet potato with 1 row of corn every two ridges, planting corn in sweet potato ridges and ditches, and sowing 2 ~ 3 seeds in each hole. The plant spacing is about 33 cm. The number of interplanting corn is about 30,000 plants /hm2. When interplanting corn, if the soil quality is poor and the soil fertility is weak, you can also interplant corn and sweet potato every 3 ~ 4 ridges 1 row.
