What are the recommended attractions for a two-day tour of Wuyuan?

Wuyuan was under the jurisdiction of Huizhou in ancient times, so the folk customs here are very close to those in southern Anhui now, and a large number of simple and elegant Huizhou ancient buildings have been preserved, with ancient ancestral halls, official houses, folk houses, study halls, covered bridges, pavilions and pagodas all over the county. Those white houses are secluded and elegant among the green mountains and green waters. The Ming and Qing residential groups such as Likeng, Yancun, Sixi and Taoxi are called "Ancient Architecture Museum" by architects.

Ergun Ancient Karst Cave

There are 36 caves in Lingyan National Forest Park, with hundreds of excellent scenic spots. Many literati have been to this cave, and more than 2,000 inscriptions such as "Yue Fei came here to visit" and "Wu" are still preserved, which is rare in China.

Three ancient trees

Famous and ancient trees all over the countryside add an ancient charm to Wuyuan. Taxus chinensis, Phoebe bournei, Cryptomeria fortunei, Cinnamomum camphora in Tang Dynasty, Lagerstroemia indica in Northern Song Dynasty, Peony in Southern Song Dynasty, Torreya grandis in Ming Dynasty, etc. still grow gracefully after more than a thousand years. Among the ancient trees in Wuyuan, the most famous ones are the ancient Cinnamomum camphora in Hongguan and the giant sequoia planted by Zhu.
