Can rabbits eat white radish?

Rabbits can eat white radish. Rabbits are herbivores and can eat white radish without side effects. But breeders should not feed too much white radish, which belongs to cold food. Feeding too much will lead to cold stomach and diarrhea in rabbits. It is suggested that breeders only feed rabbits with rabbit food and alfalfa grass, and occasionally feed vegetables and fruits to supplement nutrition.

Matters needing attention in feeding pregnant female rabbits

The peak lactation period of female rabbits is postpartum 14- 17 days. Young rabbits grow and develop quickly after opening their eyes, and their food intake and nutritional needs gradually increase. The mother rabbit's milk can no longer meet their nutritional needs. At this time, if the feed is not supplemented, the young rabbits will eat indiscriminately, and it is easy to lick the feces or dirt of the mother rabbits, causing diseases. In order to improve the weaning survival rate and weaning weight of young rabbits, we must pay attention to feeding during lactation.

1, feeding time

Female rabbits with high lactation began to eat late, while female rabbits with low lactation or large litter size began to eat early. Young rabbits generally lick on 16 days after birth, and feeding should be carried out on 17- 18 days, with no more than 20 days at night.

2. Feeding methods

Generally, isolated feeding method is adopted, followed by maternal feeding method. To isolate breeding, it is necessary to build rabbit cages. Rabbits with the age of 17- 18 were raised separately from the female rabbits. During the day, the rabbits are caught in the feeding cage, and a special trough and sink are set at the door of the cage to feed them regularly, and then the rabbits are put back into the mother rabbit cage at night. Small-scale rabbit farmers or free-range rabbit farmers often adopt the way of feeding with their mothers because of poor conditions such as cages. Young rabbits and female rabbits eat in the same trough, and the female rabbit cage should be provided with another trough and sink, and fed with high-nutrient unified feed.

3. Feeding times

Young rabbits have small gastrointestinal volume and weak digestive ability, so they should eat less and more meals every time, starting from 6 times a day and reducing to 4-5 times when weaning, which is consistent with the feeding of young rabbits. Young rabbits who use the same feeding trough as the mother rabbits should take out the feeding trough in time after feeding, so as to avoid the young rabbits urinating in the feeding trough, causing waste of feed or inducing diseases. For rabbit farms fed with granular feed, the feeding times can be reduced on the premise of preventing young rabbits from entering the trough.

4. Feeding quantity

The feed intake of young rabbits increased with the increase of age and weight. Generally, at the age of 17- 18, each animal takes 3-5g daily, and the intake increases to 40-50g at the age of 25-30.
