Where is Du Fu's Caotang?

Du Fu Caotang is located at No.38, Tsinghua Road, Qingyang District, Chengdu, Sichuan.

Wei Zhuang, a poet in the late Tang Dynasty, discovered the former site of the thatched cottage and rebuilt it to preserve it. It was repaired and expanded in the Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties. Du Fu Caotang, the former residence of Du Fu, a great poet of the Tang Dynasty in China, is located at No.38, Tsinghua Road, Qingyang District, Chengdu, Sichuan. Du Fu lived here for nearly four years and wrote more than 240 poems.

Chengdu Du Fu Caotang has more than 30,000 volumes of various materials and more than 2,000 cultural relics. Including fine engraving, photocopying, manuscripts and various modern printed editions of Du Fu's poems in the Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties, as well as foreign language translations in five languages published by Korea and Japan and more than 20 Chinese paintings in/kloc-0, it is the most abundant and well-preserved place in Du Fu's life.

The main buildings of Du Fu's Caotang

1, Poetry History Museum

The Museum of Poetry and History is the third and main building on the central axis. More than 1400 poems left by Du Fu truly and vividly show the social life of the Tang Dynasty, reflecting the history of the Tang Dynasty from prosperity to decline. Du Fu was revered as a "sage of poetry" by later generations, and his poems were called "history of poetry", hence the name "Poetry History Hall". In the center of the hall, a statue of Du Fu carved by a famous sculptor in China, Mr. Liu Kaiqu, is displayed in a realistic way.

2. Meiyuan

Meiyuan, located in the northwest corner of Caotang, covers an area of tens of acres. Originally a private garden, it was also placed under the management of thatched cottage after the founding of the People's Republic of China. Go west through the poetry and history museum, cross the water threshold and cross the moon cave gate, and you will find Meiyuan. Standing outside the Moon Cave Gate, you can see a four-story brick tower standing by the lake and a winding bridge across the lake. This tower is called "One Tour Pavilion". All the other mountains are dwarfed in the sky. In Du Fu's poem "Looking at Yue".
