How to raise potted azalea?
Rainwater is the best way to water azaleas, followed by river water and pond water. If tap water is used, the storage time of water should be 1-2 days, so that chlorine gas can be volatilized and reused. When it is used, 0.2% ferrous sulfate is added, and it is poured every 7- 10 days in the growing season, and it is frequently used to ensure that the soil is acidic.
Rhododendron likes acidic soil with loose, strong permeability, good drainage and rich humus, and its PH value is 5.0-6.0. If clay or alkaline soil is used, it is difficult to survive. Especially Xia Juan and Yang Juan, they must be mountain soil. Mountain soil needs to be improved. At present, three kinds of cultivated soil are usually used.
There are two kinds of flowerpots for planting rhododendrons: pottery pots and purple sand pots. Clay basin has good ventilation and water permeability, and is used for breeding in production units. Molded azaleas, especially shaped azaleas, are generally planted in elegant purple sand pots for indoor and outdoor display. The teapot is exquisite in texture, rich in color and beautiful in shape, which can increase the ornamental value.
Yingshanhong likes damp and should not be too dry. More water is especially needed during flowering. In winter, rhododendrons go into dormancy, and the water demand is not much. Generally, it should be watered 1 time every 4-5 days, around noon on sunny and warm days.
During the damage period, smelly bedbugs (also known as Wang Guan) sprayed 40% dimethoate 1500 times, and sprayed 1 times every 7 days for 3 consecutive times. The control methods of leaf roller in terminal bud stage mainly rely on manual capture and killing, and larvae or pupae can also be killed by spraying 40% dimethoate emulsifiable concentrate or 1500 times dichlorvos.
Rhododendron is widely distributed in China with abundant resources. Yingshanhong has a peculiar pile shape, tall and straight trunk, thick hanging roots, fast growth, pruning resistance and bright flowers. It is a good bonsai material for ornamental flower stems. Especially in the flowering period, the delicate red flowers all over the temple are very popular with visitors. However, there are several difficulties in the maintenance and production of Yingshanhong bonsai.
If the survival rate of azalea is high, the following points are worth noting:
1, excavation time. It is best to dig after dormancy and before flowering. At this time, the plants are rich in nutrition, and the sap does not start to flow, so it is easy to survive. After the flowers bloom in spring, plants consume a lot of nutrients in their bodies because of a large number of flowers. Plants are weak and can't stand big injuries and pests, and the piles dug out after the flowers are not easy to survive.
2. Selection of pile materials. First of all, we should choose a pile blank with thick trunk, multiple felling, beautiful pile type, good branching and natural transition. The natural transition pile blank is easy to survive because of the small branch incision. Secondly, pile blanks with more fine roots and fibrous roots are selected for excavation. Ardisia rhododendron is a shallow-rooted tree species, which generally has many fine roots and fibrous roots. Some piles have only a few long big roots because of the extrusion of stones or the harsh growth environment. After the big root of this kind of pile is cut off, the wound of the big root is large and difficult to heal. In addition, there are not many fine roots on the big roots, so such piles are not easy to survive. Don't dig Thirdly, digging an inch requires carrying soil balls, and most of the fibrous roots of pile blanks with original soil are intact, with high survival rate; The fibrous roots of soilless ball piles are mostly damaged and easy to survive.
3, pile blank processing. After excavation, the pile blank should be wrapped in woven bags and tied tightly to prevent soil balls from being scattered due to transportation. At the same time, attention should be paid to prevent the pile blank from losing water. After the pile blank without original soil is collected, it should be soaked in clear water for several hours to allow the pile blank to absorb enough water before planting.
4. Soil selection. The quality of soil used for rhododendron cultivation is very important for its survival. Ardisia is an acid-loving plant of Rhododendron, which should be planted in slightly acidic soil with pH of PH5.5-6.5, preferably in loose and breathable yellow humus soil where Rhododendron grows. The soil should be granular, and the soil is too fine and permeable, which will make the roots breathe poorly and cause the pile blank to suffocate.
5. Choose a basin. It is best to use a vegetarian pot to raise the blank. Rhododendron has shallow roots and thin roots, and the pot should not be too deep, so it can be planted in a pot with poor air permeability. You can also use simple pots such as wooden cases to raise blanks, and try not to use alkaline cement pots to raise blanks.
6. Planting. The soil should be dry when planting, and the basin soil planted with dry soil is not easy to harden. When planting, don't plant it too deep. If planted too deep, the pile will die because of insufficient oxygen at the root. It's also important to stick a stick in the pot. Don't let the root of the pile blank hang in the air. Don't insert the pot soil after watering, and don't shake the pile blank to avoid the pot soil hardening. After planting, water the roots once, then cover all the piles and pots with transparent plastic film bags to keep them moist, and check the pot soil at regular intervals to ensure that the pot soil is moist. After the pile blank germinates in spring, when the new buds grow to about one inch and the branches that need to germinate have new buds, choose rainy days for several days, uncover the plastic bags and practice seedlings. If there is a dry sunny day, spray water on the pile head to keep it wet, as long as the basin is wet and there is no water. Pile blanks can also be planted with river sand, because the river sand is clean and breathable, so the survival rate is also high. The disadvantage is that it is not easy for plants to carry soil in pots in the future. At the same time, due to the lack of nutrients in river sand, it is necessary to apply fertilizer and acid frequently after complete survival. If conditions permit, it can be planted in greenhouse with high survival rate and convenient management.
7. Selection of protection sites. Yingshanhong likes humid environment. After the new pile is planted, it should be maintained in a ventilated and humid place. When curing in a dry environment, use a sunshade net to cover it, spread it on the ground with a broken blanket that wraps the furniture, and then spray the blanket wet to increase the air humidity. Only when the plants are completely alive can the sunshade net be removed, and after adaptation can it be moved to a sunny place for maintenance. The red myrtle slowly takes root. Although some plants have sprouted some new branches, the piles that don't grow vigorously in summer and autumn actually don't have many new roots, which can't be regarded as complete survival. It is necessary to strengthen maintenance, and don't move plants to dry places for exposure. Especially those piles whose new branches look good when it rains in summer and autumn, and wither as soon as the sun shines, their growth is not prosperous, and basically no new roots germinate, and they are supplied by a little water absorbed by the pile head itself. Such piles are all fake, and they will basically die the next year.
8, bud protection. The buds of Ardisia rhododendron are dense, and many branches and buds may sprout in the new pile. In order to make plants take more roots, try to wipe the buds in the first year, because there is more water evaporated from the branches and leaves, which can promote plants to take more roots, and then wait until the next spring to sparse the buds of plants with better growth.
9. water Yingshanhong likes humid environment, but it is not resistant to humidity. Especially, the mortality rate of plants cultivated in airtight soil which is not conducive to water is quite high. If the soil is too wet, there will be fewer new roots sprouting, and some plants can live until the next spring. Therefore, watering the azalea depends on the degree of dryness and wetness of the soil. As long as the soil is kept moist, there can be no stagnant water or alkaline water.
10, flower control. Rhododendrons bloom easily, and there are many flowers, and some plants that don't survive well will also bloom. Too many flowers will consume a lot of nutrients and accelerate plant death. Therefore, the new piles in the first year or the plants with poor growth in the second year should be drained after bud formation, so that the nutrients of the plants can be used for plant growth.
1 1, fertilization. For newly planted plants, it is very important not to fertilize new piles in the first year, because few new roots germinate and the fertility of germinated new roots is poor. After the plants survive, only organic fertilizer and thin fertilizer are applied. Acidic organic fertilizer is better than concentrated fertilizer and chemical fertilizer.
