Fortune Telling Collection - Ziwei fortune-telling - Ziwei hangs on the cliff.

Ziwei hangs on the cliff.

During the Northern Wei Dynasty, most of the royal nobles were surrounded by Taoism, and Dojo blossomed everywhere like mushrooms after rain. However, under the influence of Buddhism, Buddhism and Taoism competed for believers, which was strongly supported by the royal family in the Northern Wei Dynasty. In this context, some imaginative temples came into being.

According to legend, Taoist Kou left a legacy, hoping to build a temple in the air. During the Taihe period of the Northern Wei Dynasty, after years of fund-raising and running in many ways, his disciples built a hanging temple on the cliff on the west side of Jinlong Gorge in Hengshan Mountain, Hunyuan, Shanxi Province. It was once called "Kong Xuanting" and now it is "Hanging Temple".

But when the Hanging Temple was built, there is no reliable historical record. These are just some folk rumors, because the whole temple seems to be hanging on a cliff, and "hanging" and "Xuan" are homophonic. Over time, it was called "Hanging Temple". Hanging Temple can be said to be the only temple in China that integrates Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism, and it is the "first scene" of the 18 scenic spots in Hengshan Mountain.

Above the Hanging Temple are neatly arranged rocks. It used to be an ocean, and mountains were formed between crustal movements. The limestone bedding on the rock is clear, with Tianfengling in the east, Cuiping Peak in the west and Tangyu River below. The highest temple is only 90 meters away from the valley and is about 30 stories high. There is also an original painting by Li Bai, a poet of the Tang Dynasty, which reads the word "spectacular". Even Xu Xiake, a great traveler and donkey friend in the Ming Dynasty, once came here and lamented it as a "grand view of the world".

The total length of the Hanging Temple is about 32 meters. Hanging Temple is mainly supported by beams. The beams and columns in the temple are all made of local Chinese fir, which can prevent corrosion and insects after soaking in tung oil. With the help of the concave-convex part of the rock wall, the beam carefully calculated the position of the landing point and inserted it into the rock wall. Based on the mechanics principle, the hanging temple supported by the cross beam skillfully uses the rock as the fulcrum, which has experienced natural erosion, changes of years and historical wars for more than 500 years/kloc-0.

The overall layout is divided into one hospital and two floors. At present, there are 1 1 temples in the temple. The main buildings are the south building, the north building and the long bridge. In fact, only a part of the hanging temple is suspended, and more than half of it is built on the mountain. Below the Hanging Temple, there is also a artificially dug lake. There are also exquisite statues in the temple, which have been destroyed at present, and copper casting, iron casting and clay sculpture are still preserved.

The South Building is about three stories high, 8 meters long and 4 meters wide. The building includes Chunyang Palace, Sanguan Hall, Sanjiao Hall and Lei Yin Hall. Chunyang Palace is dedicated to Lv Dongbin, one of the Eight Immortals of Taoism, and Sangong is dedicated to clay sculptures. The tallest clay sculpture is more than 2 meters high, and it is the largest clay sculpture in Hangkong Temple. The three official halls are dedicated to heavenly officials, local officials and water officials. Only the Lei Yin Hall is a Buddhist temple in the building.

The North Building is three stories high, about 7 meters long and about 10 meters wide. The main buildings in the building are the Five Buddha Hall, Guanyin Hall and Sanjiao Hall. Five Buddha halls on the first floor of the North Building, dedicated to Five Dhyani Buddhas; Guanyin Hall is on the middle floor, and Sanjiao Hall is on the top floor of the North Building. It is a Taoist temple and a Buddhist temple. A typical temple integrating Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism has Confucius on the left, Sakyamuni in the middle and Laozi in Taoism on the right.

The last major building of Hangkong Temple is the Long Line Bridge, which connects the South Building and the North Building. The communication connection is very clever, and the length is about 10 meter. The narrowest place can only be walked sideways by one person, which seems to have the thrilling feeling in Jin Yong's novels. The hanging temple is not big, and it takes about 20 minutes to stroll around. It is suggested to go to Hangkong Temple early, because the load of Hangkong Temple is limited, and many people will limit the flow, and only 100 people are allowed to visit in one direction at a time.
