Design conception of Xuzhou concert hall

The shape of Xuzhou Concert Hall is based on Wei Zi, and the whole building is like a flower in full bloom in the water. On the one hand, starting from the particularity of the city flower, the creative thinking hopes that this representative public cultural building can have city-specific content; On the other hand, from the characteristics of the site, it is hoped that the building will show some forms closer to nature and blend into the surrounding natural environment. Another very important concept comes from the understanding of the "beauty" of the city. Architects have their own opinions on grasping and pursuing the beauty of cities and buildings, and they don't want to simply follow the crowd, but they are more afraid of vulgarity. Therefore, in terms of architectural conception, they often avoid the public's eyes intentionally or unintentionally. The creation of Xuzhou Concert Hall is to create a popular and easy-to-understand building from the perspective of the preferences and life of an ordinary citizen, and a beautiful building that blends into the whole city.

Wei Zihua's architectural expression is not simply imitating the specific form of Wei Zihua, but using abstract architectural techniques to express the gentle posture of flowers. The building is wrapped in eight curved skins, which are layered on top of each other. At the entrance, the curve gradually unfolds, naturally forming the entrance of the building. The curved surface skin separates the transparent glass part from the opaque metal part through a curve. These changing curves and surfaces describe the intention, rich varieties and levels of osmanthus fragrans. The design expresses more people's simple concept of natural beauty: beautiful form and elegant posture, which makes the building present a form closer to regional culture and public aesthetics.
