The difference between waterfront bonsai and cliff bonsai

The difference between waterside bonsai and cliff bonsai;

1 gives people a different feeling.

Cliff-like bonsai plants are majestic and agile, giving people a very strong sense of change, a kind of rhythmic beauty and a kind of dynamic beauty. The name of waterfront bonsai rarely appears, and it is often divided into other bonsai modeling forms, or the understanding of the artistic conception of waterfront bonsai is relatively vague.

2. The sources of modeling are different

Cliff-style bonsai modeling, originated from healthy trees hanging on cliffs by the Shan Ye River, embodies tenacious will and fighting spirit. Waterfront bonsai originated from the waterside trees in nature. Its trunk is close to the water surface, curved and inclined, and its branches are flat, uneven and not upside down.

3. Modeling features are different.

The modelling characteristics of cliff bonsai are slightly different from other modelling. Because the stump is lower than the basin, the line of sight is blocked, so the viewing surface is generally only one side or two sides (front and back), so it is difficult to show the momentum of the side cliff.

Waterfront bonsai: The trunk of the model is inclined, and the inclination angle is between inclined stem type and horizontal stem type, and the angle with the horizontal plane is generally about 30 to 45. The trunk of the stump extends horizontally out of the basin, and the branches are slightly upward without hanging upside down. The lowest branch is generally not lower than the edge of the basin bottom, and the rhythm often shows the stratification of long floating branches and graded branches.
