AK- 107 is not much different from the standard AK- 100 series in appearance. The shell cover is fixed on the shell by bolts, and the shape and size of the shell throwing opening are slightly different from those of the original AK rifle. The piston tube extends from the front edge of the grip to the quasi-constellation (this is the biggest difference in appearance). The bolt, firing mechanism, shell, reducer, sight, stock, magazine and muzzle brake are all taken from AK gun family. Compared with the ordinary AK rifle, the biggest difference of AK- 107/ 108 is that it has a balancer with six-tooth gear for balancing, so as to reduce the reentry impact of the bolt. Its structure is that a slide rail with a round hole is installed on the upper part of the bolt, and the slide rail moves synchronously with another slide rail with a hole on the bolt through its six-tooth gear. When shooting, gunpowder gas enters the air guide chamber through the air guide hole of the barrel and is divided into two parts. Part of the gas pushes the piston backward, and the piston rod presses the bolt to the final position. At the same time, another part of the gas pushes the slide rail forward. However, the sliding of the slide rail is not completely driven by gunpowder gas. When the bolt moves backward, the upper slide rail moves forward through the linkage of the six-tooth gear, compressing the slide rail spring. After the bolt is in place, it moves forward under the action of the compound spring, pushing the next bullet from the magazine into the gun chamber to complete the locking. After locking, the bolt is released from the automatic safety of the hammer, and then the slide rail on it moves backward under the action of the slide rail spring and returns to the initial position again.

There are four positions on the handle of the reducer. In the top position, the weapon is in a safe state. If you hold the handle of the reducer to the "AB" position and pull the trigger, the weapon will be in a firing state until all the bullets in the magazine are exhausted. Turn the handle of the reducer down to the "3" position, and the weapon can be fired three times. The action of three shots is realized by a special lock installed on the shaft of the conversion lever. The latch has three claws, and the bolt acts on the claws during shooting. After each shooting, the bolt is pushed back to the distance of one locking claw. When the third shot is over, the latch is in its final position, and the safety device locks the hammer again, and the next shot is in the gun chamber. In order to perform the next firing process, the trigger must be released and pulled again. At this time, if you loosen the hammer, you can hit the needle forward, so you can make the next three rounds of firing. Turn the reducer handle down to the "OD" position, and pull the trigger for semi-automatic shooting. To shoot again, you need to repeat the above process again.
