Pineapple fish is one of the large-scale spawning tropical fish species, with large body, up to 20 cm in length, large eyes, yellowish green and reddish luster, small mouth and red spots on the mouth.

There is a dark horizontal stripe from the end of dorsal fin to the tail, which is similar to pineapple stripe longitudinally, so it is named pineapple fish, also known as new blue head, new blue fire fish, Cifu fish, spotted bass and so on. Variation varieties include white pineapple, blue pineapple, grass pineapple, red-eyed golden pineapple and so on.

Pineapple fish, American cichlid, is strong, easy to breed, easy to cross and has a high survival rate. Almost every once in a while, nine female pineapple fish lay about 50 to 200 eggs. After fertilization, the parent fish will protect the eggs, and the small fish will hatch in 2-3 days and take off in about 7 days.
