Tang was killed in the Turkish earthquake on February 6th.

Before the earthquake, Tang was attending a short-term training program of Turkish Tour Guides Association (TUREB) and staying at Isis Hotel in Adia. Within a few days, many Turkish media paid attention to the situation of the 43-member tour guide team of Isis Hotel, and Tang was always on the list of missing persons.

Before the early morning of February 10, 2023, local media claimed that 18 tour guide students had been killed in the earthquake. Tang's friend said that after the earthquake disaster, our staff never gave up looking for Tang. After Tang's father rushed to the scene, he has been looking for his son in a nearby hospital, but all the hospitals have said that they have not accepted Tang. Later, after the burial place was determined, his father Tang Shou stood beside the ruins, waiting for his son to be rescued by rescuers.

In the early morning of February 10, confirmed by the front rescue team, rescuers found 10 bodies of victims, including Tang.

NTV, a local TV station in Turkey, reported that in the process of transforming the Isis hotel where Tang died from an apartment into a hotel, the supporting part was cut off, resulting in the loss of earthquake resistance and the collapse of the whole building. After the news of Tang's death came out, the program group, guests and many friends of Tang sent messages of condolence. On the morning of February 10, the official blog of the informal talk program group posted a message mourning: "Have a good trip, our favorite brother Tang."
