The current age of the Milky Way is about 8 billion years to1800 million years, and it is expected to collide with Andromeda in 3 billion years. The life of the Milky Way is actually influenced by nearby galaxies, and it is most likely that it will collide or merge with Andromeda galaxy after 4 billion years. By then, the Milky Way will no longer be the Milky Way, and Andromeda will no longer be Andromeda. Both will collide or destroy or create new and larger galaxies at the same time.
