Painting tutorial:
First of all, I roughly imagined the composition of the whole picture and the movements of the characters, and drew a sketch.
Draw a structural diagram. Because I can't find the same reference photo as I imagined, I can refer to the MagicPoser model or my own body for the part that I can't draw.
On the basis of structure, enrich the details of characters and draw relatively accurate outlines of facial features, hair and clothes.
Reduce the transparency of the draft layer and re-outline the lines of each part accurately.
Use SAI's selection pen, selection brush and paint bucket functions to fill basic colors in different parts of the characters. Redesigned the background.
Suppose the lower light source projects from the left front of the picture, and draw the folds and shadows of the clothes according to this moment. Some occluded parts, such as clothes overlapping and shadows under hair, are fixed to be drawn, but they are biased to different positions according to the direction of light source.
Carefully depict the five senses of the characters, mainly depicting the shadows under the eyes, nose, lips, neck and hair. The corners of the eyes, nose wings and fingertips can be smudged with some red to brighten up. People's eyes are deep in the upper part and shallow in the lower part, so they can cast a shadow over the upper part of the eyes through the function of positive film overlapping.
Set aside the highlight position according to the direction of the light source and outline the hair line. The hair behind the characters can be blurred by adding some light colors to make it alternate between reality and reality.
Add shadows and highlights to the scrolls of couplets to draw a sense of volume. Add four Chinese characters "You must pass every exam". After rasterizing the layer, use the layer transformation-perspective function to adjust the font size and shape to match the perspective effect from far to near.
Repaint the background. The circular pane in the middle is the superposition and subtraction of two circles. The circular pane is also a common composition form in antique illustrations. In the background and the circular pane, apply some ink blue background color and use a white splash brush to create a snow-white effect. Add flowers to the left side of the pane and the bottom right of the picture to have a visual balance effect.
Stack these figures and see the overall effect.
At present, the characters are still gray, and there is no big color change. Next, put a positive overlay on the picture, and erase the highlight area with an eraser to strengthen the contrast between light and dark. Then use an overlay, with orange on the left to brighten the color, and a blue balance chart on the right. Moreover, the background flowers are too three-dimensional, which will rob the mirror of the characters, so blur their Gaussian and open the distance between them, so that the whole painting is completed ~
