How to sketch characters?

The drawing method of figure sketch is as follows:

Step 1: When sketching, first of all, pay attention to the basic shape, perspective, proportion and composition of the head of the character, that is, the "business position", and distinguish the large light-receiving surface from the backlight surface. At this stage, we don't have to pay too much attention to the details of eyes, nose and mouth. We only consider that the head is duck egg-shaped, find the dividing line between light and dark from top to bottom, find the big physical characteristics of the head, and distinguish the light-receiving surface and backlight surface of the five senses in the bright part.

Step 2: pay attention to the physical characteristics of the object and find out the change of the dividing line between light and dark. This line is sharp and slow, looming. The reality of the boundary line directly explains the change of form, which "strings up" the form and closely connects the independent parts. Under different light source angles, objects are composed of faces in different directions, thus showing different light and shade, and then explaining the shape.

Step 3: local depth stage, usually drawn from the strongest and most vivid part of the head. For example, the nose is the center of the face, and its shape is clear and firm. The bottom of the nose is connected with the mouth, and the ball formed by the orbicularis oris muscle combines the upper and lower jaws. The eyes in the eye sockets on both sides of the nose root are vivid, bright and expressive. The eyebrows are wrapped on the arch of the eyebrows from the inside, and the cheekbones extend outward to the ears, and then draw others.
