Yue Opera originated in Shengzhou, Zhejiang Province, originated in Shanghai, flourished in the whole country and spread all over the world. During its development, it absorbed the achievements of Kunqu opera, traditional Chinese opera and Shao opera, and experienced the historical evolution from men's Shaoxing opera to women's Shaoxing opera. Yue Opera is good at expressing emotion and singing, and there are professional troupes all over the country. In 2006, Yue Opera was selected into the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage list.

Yue Opera originated from singing books on the ground, and was later called women's regular class, Shaoxing women's art troupe, Dedu class, Cao Taiban, Xiaoge class, Yue Opera, Shaoxing art troupe, Xiaomei 'er Xiaoge class, Shaoju and Shengju. It was called "Yue Opera" for the first time. On September 7th, 1925, it was performed in the small world amusement park.

It was first called "Yue Opera" in the advertisement of Shenbao. Since 1938, most troupes and troupes are called "Yue Opera". However, the headlines in various drama newspapers are still inconsistent, and journalists and contributors often use their own names. From 65438 to 0939, Fan Dimin, a reporter of Ta Kung Pao, was also the director of "Yin Yue Stage" in Yao Shuijuan.

Inspired by Li Bai's "Yue Nv Ci", considering that Shaoxing is the revival base of Yue Wang Gou Jian's victory over Wu, and that Sheng County, the birthplace of Yue Opera, is one of Shao's genera, and moved by the famous actress of Yue Opera "I just want to sing louder, higher and farther", I wrote a manuscript for the Drama Newspaper edited by Ru Boxun, and published the motivation and significance of its name "Yue Opera".
