What is the reason why hamsters bark?

However, it has also been found that hamsters at home sometimes bark suddenly, which is generally caused by these three reasons.

The first reason is that people are unfamiliar with the environment. In fact, many people will feel a sense of conflict when they arrive in a new environment. So, like a pet hamster, it may scream at everything just after it arrives in a new environment, such as you feed it or you touch it, but at this time, you'd better leave it alone and don't take it out by force, which may lead to some adverse reactions. You can let it move freely in the cage directly, or you can observe it occasionally. Usually this situation doesn't last long. The most important thing is to let it adapt to this environment first, and then it won't bark again when it is familiar.

The second situation is that you may encounter natural enemies, which usually happens when you already have a cat or a dog, because hamsters will scare away enemies by barking out of self-defense when they meet natural enemies. Although many domestic hamsters are no longer wild, this instinct has remained. In this case, you can see if your cat or dog accidentally scares the hamster.

The third reason is that defending one's territory is a provocation, because some people may have one at home, but the other, some people may want to have a pair. In fact, this is an act of not knowing how to raise hamsters. They must be separated by two cages first. If these two hamsters are still braying in the cage, it means that they are not suitable for being together, so it is better to keep them in separate cages.
