When will China Beidou satellite be successfully networked and put into use?

China's Beidou satellite was successfully networked on June 23, 2020, and it can be put into use after successful networking.

At 9: 43 Beijing time on June 23rd, 2020, China successfully launched the 55th navigation satellite of Beidou system in xichang satellite launch center, which is also the last global networking satellite of Beidou-3. So far, the deployment of Beidou-3 global satellite navigation system constellation has been fully completed.

The satellite launched this time belongs to the geostationary orbit satellite. After a series of on-orbit tests, China will conduct the Beidou system-wide joint debugging test. On the basis of ensuring the stable and reliable operation of the system and excellent performance indicators, it provides users with all-weather, all-day and high-precision global positioning navigation time service, as well as satellite-based enhancement, short message communication, accurate single point positioning and other special services.

Characteristics of Beidou system

Firstly, the space segment of Beidou system adopts a mixed constellation composed of three kinds of orbiting satellites. Compared with other satellite navigation systems, there are more high-orbit satellites with stronger anti-occlusion ability, especially in low latitudes.

Secondly, Beidou system provides navigation signals with multiple frequency points, and the service accuracy can be improved through the joint use of multi-frequency signals.

Thirdly, Beidou system innovatively integrates navigation and communication capabilities, and has five functions: real-time navigation, quick positioning, accurate timing, position reporting and short message communication service.
