How to identify the constellations at night
Find a star map, or use some software that can display the current starry sky to find a reference point in the observed sky, such as those very bright stars, or some constellations are very bright, with obvious geometric characteristics, and there is no interference from bright stars around them. Such constellations are most suitable as reference points, such as Orion on the horizon in the northern sky in early winter and the Big Dipper in the northern sky in early autumn. According to these reference points, the corresponding constellations can be found on the star map. Of course, external conditions are also needed, such as clear night sky, no obvious glare pollution around, and good eyesight. So no problem. Also, when observing constellations, it is not recommended to use a telescope unless you are very clear that you are observing a specific star in a constellation with a telescope:)
