Why did the ancients say that Zuo Dong was right and west?

What the ancients said about the right west of Zuo Dong is different from what the modern people say about the left west and the right east. It doesn't mean that the ancients were wrong, nor does it mean that modern people are right. There's actually a misunderstanding. Just a different angle.

Ancient people, in ancient times, advocated Feng Shui. When they see a mansion, they will ask Mr. Feng Shui to put a compass. In geomantic omen, the orientation is "due south and north, due west of Zuo Dong". This is why the ancients said that Zuo Dong was right and western.
