In the alternation of old and new leaders, life, value and spirit are displayed in the struggle between man and nature. In this film, all the characters are played by simple mountain people. Jacques perrin turned decay into magic, and turned ordinary mountain people into superb actors, or they were not acting, but living with their lives and bodies! 1999 Belgian Flemish International Film Festival: Golden Boot Award (the highest award in the film festival), Public Award (the winner is Bruno Gulay, the composer of this film) and Special Attention Award (Bruno Gulay won this honor for his excellent film music).
