According to the available archaeological data, most Oracle Bone Inscriptions were found in the Yin Ruins in Anyang, China. Oracle Bone Inscriptions was not unique to Shang Dynasty, but existed before Shang Dynasty. Archaeological studies have found that Oracle bone inscriptions in Shang Dynasty probably originated from the inscriptions on Oracle bones in Peiligang cultural site in Henan province 8500 years ago, and it has transitional characters-Oracle bone inscriptions in garden village, Doumen Town.
