It is not the clothes that the previous generation of wise kings dared not wear, nor the words that the previous generation of wise kings dared not say. So don't say anything that doesn't conform to etiquette, and don't do anything that doesn't conform to etiquette and morality; Speaking by hook or by crook can conform to etiquette, and a person's behavior will not deviate without careful consideration. Serve your mother with your father's feelings, and so does your love; Serve the monarch with the feelings of serving his father, and so is reverence. Therefore, serving the mother is with love, serving the monarch is with respect, and both are treating the father. Therefore, it is loyal to serve the monarch with filial piety, and it is smooth to serve the superiors with respect. You can serve the monarch and superiors faithfully, then you can keep your salary and position, and you can keep your sacrifice to your ancestors. This is the filial piety of the scholar! "The Book of Songs Xiaoya Xiaowan" said: "Get up early and go to bed late, and don't humiliate your parents."
Chapter 6 of Shu Ren.

Chapter VIII Filial Piety
Confucius said: "In the past, a wise king ruled the world with filial piety, even a vassal of a very humble small country, not to mention a vassal of a public, a Hou, a Bo, a Zi and a man. Therefore, it will win the favor of the subjects of various vassal States and make them worship the former king. Governing a vassal who has sealed the country, even a widowed man can't bully him, not to mention his subjects and people, so he will please the people and help them worship their ancestors. Only in this way can parents be happy and peaceful when they are alive, and they can become ghosts and gods after death and enjoy ancestor worship for future generations. So the world will be peaceful, natural disasters will not happen, and man-made disasters will not appear. Therefore, a wise king will rule the world with filial piety, as mentioned above. Chapter 9 of Three Intellectuals
Ceng Zi said, "I take the liberty to ask, don't saints have greater virtues than filial piety?"
Confucius said: "Of all things in the world, man is the noblest. Nothing is more important than filial piety in human behavior. In filial piety, nothing is more important than respecting your father. The affection between father and son is out of the innate nature of human beings, and it also reflects the relationship between monarch and minister. Nothing is more important than parents giving birth to their children to carry on the family line; A father is like a majestic king to his children, and there is nothing more generous than this kind of love. Therefore, it is against morality to love and respect others' behavior without loving your parents; Respecting others and not respecting one's parents is called violating etiquette. If you don't love and respect your parents according to the people's will and go against the people's will, the people can't follow suit. Instead of working hard on the good path of love and respect, relying on the evil path that violates moral etiquette, although it can achieve temporary success, is also despised by gentlemen. A gentleman's behavior is not like this, and his words must be regarded as praised and pursued; Therefore, we must think that it can bring joy to people, establish virtue and justice, and make people respect it; Its behavior can be imitated; Its appearance is all in line with the rules, making people impeccable; One is to advance and retreat, not to break the law and become a model for the people. This gentleman governs the country and people of Lebanon with such actions, so the people fear him, love him and learn to imitate his actions. Therefore, a gentleman can realize his moral education and carry out his laws and orders smoothly. "The Book of Songs Cao Feng Dove" said:' A gentleman is a good gentleman, and his manners are not bad.' "
Chapter 10 of Ji Xiaoxing
Confucius said: "A dutiful son serves his parents, and he should do his duty of honoring his parents at home. When providing for food and daily life, he should keep a happy mood to serve;" Parents are sick and should be taken care of anxiously; When parents die, we should try our best to deal with the aftermath with sadness; We should take seriously the sacrifices made by our ancestors; We shouldn't behave in disorder. Only when these five aspects are done well can we say that we have fulfilled our children's responsibilities to their parents. To serve your parents, you should be in a high position without arrogance, in a low position without causing trouble, and get along with others without fighting. Being overbearing in a high position is bound to perish, being in a lower position but not causing trouble is bound to be punished by criminal law, and fighting among the people will inevitably lead to killing each other. If you don't give up the three evils of arrogance and chaos, even if you feed your parents with the meat of cattle, sheep and pigs every day, you will still be unfilial. "
Chapter v punishments chapter 11
Confucius said: "There are as many as 3,000 criminal laws to which the five punishments belong, and there is no greater crime than unfilial. Chapter 17 Shi Jun

Confucius said, "When a dutiful son loses his parents, he will cry until he is hoarse. He can't cry for long." You lose your normal manners, your words lose their coherence and literary grace, you feel uneasy when you wear gorgeous clothes, you feel unhappy when you hear wonderful concerts and you don't feel delicious when you eat delicious food. This is the expression of their children's sadness at the loss of their loved ones. After losing our parents, we have to eat three days late. This is to educate people not to damage the health of the living because of the sadness of losing their loved ones, and not to destroy the essence of life because of excessive mourning. This is the way for sages and gentlemen to govern the country. Mourning for loved ones for no more than three years tells people that mourning has its end.
