Why did so many scientists emerge in the Eastern Han Dynasty, where divination (theology) prevailed?

1. Divination is not theology but divination, and there is no local theology in China.

2. The ancient "science" didn't have the modern scientific research system, but it was perfected by summing up the experience and lessons in production practice. In other words, it is the natural evolution of technology caused by the development of productive forces, so it has little to do with people's thoughts at that time.

After more than 200 years of peace in the Western Han Dynasty, China people gradually accumulated the experience of living and working in peace and contentment. By the Eastern Han Dynasty, quantitative change led to qualitative change, thus promoting technological progress.
