Yugu language

Yugur is an ancient ethnic minority in the north of China, whose generation is mainly animal husbandry. Its current population is 1.37 million (China census in 2000), which is distributed in the middle of Hexi Corridor and the north of Qilian Mountain, that is, mainly concentrated in Sunan Yugur Autonomous County of Gansu Province and Huangnibao Yugur Township of Jiuquan City. It is a unique ethnic group in Gansu Province.

Yugur speaks three languages, and the western Yugur language belongs to Altai Turkic language family; The eastern Yugur language belongs to Altai Mongolian language family, and there are also Chinese. Yugur people have no mother tongue, generally use Chinese characters and believe in Lamaism. The marriage of Yugur people is relatively free. You can marry a woman or a husband. When the wedding date is agreed, they will ask the Lama for divination, and the wedding will be held on an auspicious day.
