What are the four ancient beasts?

The four great beasts in ancient China were Qinglong, Baihu, Suzaku and Xuanwu.

Qinglong is the God of the East, White Tiger is the God of the West, Suzaku is the God of the South, and Xuanwu is the God of the North. Therefore, there are four spirits: Qinglong, Baihu, Suzaku, Xuanwu and Tiantang, which are based on the square and the king makes the palace pavilion.
